BISSELL Pet Foundation® Empty the Shelters Event Coming Soon

We’re proud to design products that help make pet messes, odors, and pet homelessness disappear. Thanks to people just like you, we’ve helped save 300,000 shelter pets and counting. And we won’t stop until every pet has a home.

Pet Foundation History

BISSELL Pet Foundation (BPF) was founded by Cathy Bissell in 2011 as a natural extension of her love for animals and her commitment to their welfare. BPF’s goal is to find a loving home for every pet and to reduce the number of animals in shelters and rescues. Over the years, BPF has awarded millions of dollars to their partner of 5,000 network of animal welfare organizations across the United States and Canada.

Empty the Shelters Adoption Event

One of the ways BISSELL Pet Foundation works to help the community is by hosting Empty the Shelters events across the country. The next event is October 1-4 and has over 100 shelters participating in several states. Find participating shelters near you.

During Empty the Shelters, prospective pet owners pay a reduced adoption fee and BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsors the remaining cost of the adoption.

BPF's Impact

Since these events began in May 2016, there have been Empty the Shelters in 33 states + Canada. Over 40,550 pets have been adopted during these events alone. That’s a lot of families who have opened their homes to a new furry family member!
